Energy – MANA

Mana (MA-na) is the Hawaiian word for energy. It is closely related to the “prana” of the religions of India and the “manna” of the Old Testament of the Bible. According to Max Long, they are one and the same. Since the entire Universe is formed of energy, it is important for us to understand and use it.

Mana is generated by the Basic Self [Unihipili], and is shared with the other two Selves [Uhane & Aumakua].

• Unihipili generates this energy by breathing and sustains it by eating, sleeping and doing physical activities. The healthier you are the more energy or mana you can create and sustain. This is a very good reason for keeping yourself in the best health you can.
• Unhipili uses its mana to keep the Physical Body [Kino] working. It also uses mana to store the memories. It can reach out with its aka fingers to read the energy of other people, places or things. This is one of the gifts of Unihipili.
• When Unihipili shares mana with Uhane, the energy is converted to mana-mana. Mana-mana is used by Uhane to think and fuels the Will.
• When Unihipili shares mana with Aumakua, it is transformed to mana-loa. Mana-loa is the energy of creation.

You can generate mana by being out in nature and tapping into the energy around you. Thus James Redfield suggested in “The Celestine prophecy.” You can generate mana by doing physical activities. Or the simplest way to generate mana is to consciously breathe deeply, asking the Unihipili to hold the energy until you direct its use. Whenever you generate mana, make sure you direct it someplace so it isn’t wasted. You can direct it towards your own body for healing, towards another person, or to your Aumakua.

Healing involves the use of mana to reconstruct the injured part into a whole, complete and perfect part. The Hawaiians used mana with every prayer since the Aumakua needs the energy to create the answer. Prayers are to be constructed by visualizing the perfect condition and then accumulating mana to send with the prayer.
